In the current research, Characterization of diamond-like carbon coating (DLC) deposited by low voltage electrolytic deposition method with Raman spectroscopy, the effect of diamond-like carbon coating to modify the surface of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was evaluated by examining its tribological properties and biocompatibility using the electrolytic deposition method at an applied potential of 16 volts. In this regard, the effect of deposition process variables such as the concentration of constituents of the electrolyte bath, inter-electrode distance, applied potential, temperature and time on the quality of the formed coating was studied. The nature and structural characteristics of the coating obtained in the best operating conditions were identified with the help of Raman spectroscopy and it was found that the ID/IG ratio is equal to 1.92, the sp3 content is 20%, the carbon clusters are 10.01 nm in size, and its density is 1.37 g/cm3. In the completion of Raman spectroscopy, the amorphous structure of the coating was detected by GIXRD test and the formation of hydrogenated diamond-like carbon coating (a-C:H) was detected by FT-IR spectroscopy. FE-SEM microscope was used to investigate the microstructure of the coating cross-section and the morphology of the used surface and a thickness of 1.74 ± 0.17 µm was detected.
