Mesoporous materials are gaining increasing research interest in sample preparation because of their desirable characteristics such as high surface area, large pore volume, tunable mesoporous channelsandetc. Among these materials, mesoporous tungsten oxide attracts great attention in a variety of important applications including the electrochemical capacitors, electrochromic, photochromic andgasochromic materials and also gas sensing materials. In this study, Mesoporous tungsten oxide was synthesized by soft templating method using tungstic acid precursor and P123 block copolymer asstructure directing agent. The resulting powders were characterized using X-ray difractometery (XRD), Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nitrogen adsorption/desorption analysis and low-angle XRD. FTIR spectroscopy demonstrated that P123 block-copolymers were removed after calcination at 450 ̊C. Specific surface area of powders which were calcined at500 was calculated 29
using BET theory. low-angle XRD did not showany order in the pores structure.
