In this research, the effect of sintering process parameters and the amount of graphene on the hardness and fracture toughness of ZrB2-SiCn composite has been investigated. To make composites, the experimental design method by Taguchi method was used. Based on L9 array, nine composites were sintered by plasma spark sintering method. Then, in order to check the hardness and fracture toughness of the samples, the Vickers hardness test method and crack length measurement were used, respectively. The results showed that the maximum hardness (23.3 GPa) for the sample sintered at 1900 degrees Celsius, 6 minutes time, 20 MPa pressure and 5% graphene by weight and the highest fracture toughness (6.90 MPa m0.5) In the sample sintered at a temperature of 1900 degrees Celsius, a time of 6 minutes, a pressure of 20 MPa, and the amount of graphene is 7.5% by weight. In addition, it was found that toughening mechanisms such as crack branching and crack deflection improve the fracture toughness.
